Clinics & Services
It is very important for all women over 25 years of age to have cervical smears. This is a test to detect changes in the cervix, which may, in years to come, lead to cancer. These changes can easily be treated and so prevent cancer from developing. Appointments for smear tests can be booked online or by phoning reception. Please talk to the doctor or nurse if you have any queries or worries about the test.
If you wish to permanently withdraw from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, please fill in this form and return it to your GP
Child Health Clinic
These run on Thursdays between 1 pm and 3.30 pm. The health visitors attached to the practice run the child health clinic. It is a ‘drop-in’ clinic to see the health visitor for review or practice nurse for immunisations. You will be sent an appointment when your child is due a 6 week, 8-10 months or 27 month check by either the doctor or the health visitors. Parents can bring their under 5s to be weighed, have immunisations or for general advice on child care. This is a ‘well baby’ clinic and children who are unwell SHOULD be seen by a doctor rather than come to this clinic. They will not be able to see a doctor for their illness at this clinic.
We offer full antenatal care to all our pregnant patients. Women attending the practice will be seen by a doctor from the Practice. The Antenatal Clinic is by appointment only.
Social Prescribing Services
There are many things that impact our health and wellbeing, including feeling isolated or struggling with practical challenges. We have Social Prescribers in our practice who can speak with adults registered with the practice. They will ask you about what is happening in your life, what you enjoy, and what is getting in the way. The Social Prescriber might suggest services and activities that might help you or simply work with you to build your skills and confidence. They can tell you about community based services, e.g. lunch clubs, gardening groups, benefits advice, exercise groups.
Please ask your GP to refer you to social prescribing.
