Prescriptions when you're travelling abroad

  • Patients who are staying outside the UK for more than 3 months will be removed from the practice list, but will be able to register on their return, so long as they are still living in the practice catchment area.

  • Repeat prescriptions can be provided for a maximum of 3 months with the exception of Levothyroxine and oral contraceptives for which up to 12 months can be prescribed, so long as you have had a recent medication review.

  • If you should require medical advice or treatment while travelling then you will need to seek it in the country you are in.
